Missionary Projects

GIS: How are the missionaries projects here in Brazil and in the world? You’ve already said a little on La Salette missionaries in the world. But is there any project in order to settle somewhere where there isn’t La Salette missionaries presence yet?

Father Perin: In Brazil, a request was made us in order to build a Sanctuary in Goiás (state), in the region of Caldas Novas. A bishop of the Sacred Family there, that is a congregation that was born of a priest of our congregation, has made us this proposal. He is in inviting us to build the Sanctuary, because the region doesn’t have any, and another priority is a retreat house, that is already built, but there aren’t people to cheer it up. So, these are some projects that La Salette colleagues here in Brazil are studying in order to check if it’s possible to advance in those tasks during next year. We are also entering new countries, taking advantage of the 150th anniversary of La Salette Congregation, that will be next year, coinciding with the 100th year of La Salette presence in Brazil.
